Building Awareness for Future Skills in Innovative Air Mobility

As part of its ongoing commitment to community engagement, FMCI partnered with Shannon Community Partnership to host its Annual Stakeholder Networking Evening at FMCI. The event provided an opportunity to connect with a broad range of local stakeholders and community representatives in an informal setting, while also introducing FMCI’s activities and strategic priorities to audiences beyond the traditional aviation sector.

The networking evening brought together key stakeholders including Clare County Council, local media, An Garda Síochána, and other community leaders. The informal format, supported by refreshments and open discussion, encouraged meaningful dialogue and relationship-building across the regional ecosystem.

Within this context, FMCI used the opportunity to deliver its first AIRMOB Roadmap Pitch to a non-aviation audience, supporting its ambition to raise awareness of the project’s objectives and its vision for establishing a Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) in Shannon.

The AIRMOB presentation was framed within FMCI’s broader mission, highlighting why FMCI exists and how it is evolving to support innovation and skills development in the region. A particular emphasis was placed on innovative air mobility and the importance of developing future workforce capabilities to meet emerging industry needs.

The presentation introduced the AIRMOB project, outlining the Irish Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) partnership and the planned activities aimed at strengthening skills development in the innovative air mobility domain. It also helped contextualise how the project contributes to regional development, education pathways, and long-term workforce readiness.

The discussion generated valuable qualitative insights into regional development priorities and stakeholder perspectives. It also revealed strong interest among participants in the outcomes of the project and in the new educational programmes that will be developed and delivered by TUS as part of the AIRMOB initiative.
